When working with specialty coffee, the difference is that the buyer values our work and we improve economically. We get excited when international buyers come to our farms, because when they go to the beneficios we don't get any profit.

BELIEVING

HONDURAN COFFEE

Our coffee is grown in selected altitudes and climates where our coffee producers devote their lifes to refining and perfecting the highest level of quality coffee. For them, the most important consideration is quality - not quantity. The coffee is produced in 5 regions of the country: Copán, Opalaca, Montecillos, Azul Meambar and Asalta Tropical.

Our plantations are 100% arábica. The most common varieties are Typica and Caturra. However we also grow other varieties like Catuaí, Vila Sarchi, Lempira, IHCAFE90, Parainema, Obata and other catimores resistant to pests and diseases.

The majority of the plantations are found in wooded and shady territories, with the purpose of having an ecological sustainable production.

The coffee in Honduras has diverse characteristics, directly related to the climate conditions and the geographical areas where the coffee is cultivated.

The coffee from Copán tends to be sweet, chocolate, with heavy body, delicate acidity and sustained postaste. Montecillos coffee is known for citric flavors, apricot, caramel and tartaric acidity.

In Opalaca tropical flavors like grapes, berries stand out while showing a light body, delicate acidity and balanced retrotaste. Comayagua presents sweet fragance, citric acidity, sweet flavors and a creamy body.
